The Visible People is a unique, expanded,
participatory version of New Art Club's
show The Visible Men. During this project
the company comes to each venue and works
with a group selected in consultation with
the company which can be educational, community
or professionally based. Over the period
of the project the group works with New
Art Club to create a unique and bespoke
performance event to be presented at a
local venue.
This project gives participants the chance
to work with a professional company and
to experience the process of creating a
piece of theatre from the inside-out and
through to performance; it increases the
participants' skills and experience of
choreographic tools and techniques. This
project also gives a chance for your indigenous
language to be integrated into the show
alongside other local cultural references,
to make it locally relevant wherever it
tours.
"New Art Club brilliantly
bring together people who think they
can't dance with ones who thought they
could !" Julien
Carrel - CCN Roubaix Nord Pas de Calais
To date The Visible People has been created
with three groups in France (in Bruay,
Bethune and Calais) through the CCN Roubaix
Pas de Calais and with one group in London,
at The Place.
